Ontario Rocks for Breast and Ovarian Cancer
on
September 19 2009
Bring your instuments to Queen st. Niagara Falls ont. to help raise funds for breast and ovarian cancer research.
The street will be closed off from Victoria Ave to River rd. to accommodate over 200 viper cars. At 3:30pm sharp everyone on the street is going to join in singing 'with a little help from my friends'. We are asking our local musicians to bring themselves, friends and instuments to Queen st, to help us out. We will be providing several venues for you to visit and register for this event. Upon Registration you will find a donation box, we encourage all of our paticipants to drop a small donation in this box to help us start. At the event there will be other opportunities for donations.
Every instrument is welcome. Guitars, keyboards, saxaphones, flutes and any other instument playing music is encouraged to come down. Many venues along queen st will be providing electical sockets for those who require them for amps, keyboards, etc. Please bring your own extension cord.
Our main goal is to raise funds for Breast and Ovarian cancer research however as a secondary goal, we would like to break the record for the number of singers and instruments playing in unison.
Any band that registers will have the opportunity to add their names to a secondary list for a gig after the event. These gigs will be done mostly on a volunteer bases however will be provided with a meal, a drink and $30-$50 to offset transportation costs. This is a great way to get your music heard, help out a great cause, and get your faces seen.
Because we understand that not everyone will be able to make their way to Niagara Falls we have arranged for those people to paticipate too. Venues in your area will be provided for you to go to on Sept.19/2009. At 3:30pm these venues will also be allowing you to play your instument and sing along with us on Queen st. Of course it will be recorded so it can be proved that this venue participated with us at the very same time. These recordings will be posted on Ontariorock.org and U-tube.
If you would like to participate in this event as a volunteer, supply a venue, or have any questions please feel free to contact Alex George at alexgeorge@ontariorocks.org
